Disabling trackpad in D600

I have tried to disable the trackpad on the D600 in the BIOS settings by selecting PS/2 mouse. I find this is an odd setting to have as there is no PS/2 port. I am using a USB mouse. The trackpad still works. I have also tried to disable it in the mouse control panel with no success. Has anyone been able to do this?

Thanks.

The internal touchpad and track stick use (I believe) a PS/2 emulator - they're all like that.

To disable the touchpad, the track stick, or both, go to Start > Control Panel > Mouse and click the "Device Select" tab (this is with the Alps drivers on the D-family Lats, although the screens are similar for Synaptics hardware on C-family Lats). There you can select Stick, Stick & Pad, or Pad.
