Hi Everyone...Need some HELP here.   My AC adapter for my Inspiron 5100 notebook has stopped working after 4 years of service.   I was browsing the Dell website looking for a replacement for my AC adapter and quite confused by the information that is given on the website. 

 

On the DELL website there is an AC adapter with the title " 90 WATT 3 Prong AC Adapter for Dell Inspiron 1100/2600/2650/5100" with the Dell Part # 310-2993 and Manufacture Part # 9R733.   I look at the picture of the AC adapter and it's NOT my AC adapter.   I plug in the end part of the AC adapter into my notebook, but the shape of an upside down " U" on the end part of it and  NOT circular as shown on the picture on the website.

 

I was able to find another AC adapter with the title " 90 WATT 3 Prong AC Adapter for Select Dell Inspiron NoteBooks" with the Dell Part #310-1461 and Manufacture Part #3K360.   The picture matches the AC adapter that I am using.   It doesn't list my Inspiron 5100, but other Inspiron notebooks.

 

Confuse?? :smileysad:   I don't want to order something that doesn't match my AC adapter

 

Another question, is anyone using an UNIVERSAL AC ADAPTER for their Inspiron 5100??
