I recently also had this issue. I am Using an Inspiron 2650 and as of 1/24 I noticed strange and unusual remappings of keys. :smileysurprised: For instance my L key now prints 3. The remapping seems to be limited to letters on the right hand side of the keyboard.

    PLEASE advise.

    Boy do I feel dumb...!

Again I searched the internet for a fix to the above keyboard problem. What I found is the keyboard needs to be disconnected and reconnected. It works like a charm. If you need help try this site...

IT WORKED FOR ME. HOPE IT WILL WORK FOR YOU AS WELL.

I have had this problem twice now. The first time, about 2 months ago, I was told to leave the computer switched on and it would fix itself, which it did, after about 5 hours.

However it happened again yesterday. All I did this time was unseat the keyboard; I didn't even disconnect it. There were a few hairs stuck underneath the keys. After pulling these out and reseating the board, it worked fine. So, obviously it is a problem with dirt and your keyboard probably just needs cleaning.

Does anyone know how to solve this prob w/o removing d entire keyboard? My Inspiron 2200 keyboard also types numbers after some letters e.g. I'm getting q1 whenever I type "q" or "1", and so on for these keys: q1 w2 e3 r4 u7 i8 o9 p0. One keystroke actually displays 2 characters.

I know no other way to correct this problem. Removing the keyboard and reconnecting is very easy. I encourage you to try it. Just follow the directions on the above site. My keyboard also typed double letters. Hope this helps.

I am having a similar problem with my laptop - the space bar seems to hold down by itself and the alt key seems to be permanently pressed down. I cannot follow the link that was posted earlier, can anyone tell me how to remove my keyboard please?
