USB Optical Mouse - erratic behavior
I have been having USB optical mouse issues with my Inspirion 8600 laptop. I have a Logitech wireless USB optical mouse but it behaves erratically intermitantly. The cursor slips quite often from the screen, or travels in opposite direction etc.
I have also tried installing Miscosoft basic optical mouse, but that had even more erratic behaviour.
Have updated my system with latest softwar updates, but did not help a lot. Flashed BIOS Rev A12.
Note that Alps Touch Pad works fine...
Any suggestions ? Thanks

Here was the problem...
My laptop has a WSXGA+ screen which I have set up @ 1680 x 1050 @ 120 dpi resolution. A normal mouse is unable to handle this high resolution thus giving rise to erratic mouse pointer motions. The Logitech M510 has the capicity to deal with high resolution screens. Its 800dpi sensor scans 5.8 MPixels/sec, thus rendering very precise and accurate motion on high resolution screens.
