I recently started having this same issue, I’ve followed everything per this thread and still cannot get the screen to work with HDMI. This is the first time since I got the monitor that this is happening and I am unsure how to proceed?
* Was this monitor purchased directly from Dell as new? * If not, from whom did you purchase this Dell monitor? * When was the purchase made? * What is the non-private 20 digit S/N? * What is the A0x revision?
* What operating system? * What specific PC model? - If a Desktop PC, what video card? What video out ports are on the video card? - If a Laptop PC, what video out ports are on the Laptop? * Show in detail how the monitor is connected to the PC or added video card using all ports and cabling

I am using the monitor on a MacBook Pro
- If a Desktop PC, what video card? What video out ports are on the video card?
N/A
- If a Laptop PC, what video out ports are on the Laptop?
Mini-Display Port for HDMI/VGA

Currently, the HDMI option still does not work per my earlier mention, it goes straight to Power Saving mode despite all your suggestions in the reference post, VGA works without issue.
This out of warranty S2340L built on May 5, 2015 was never tested on Apple. I am confused by this line, "Mini-Display Port for HDMI/VGA". Are you saying that the MacBook Pro has all three video out ports, mDP/HDMI/VGA? Or are you using some form of mDP to HDMI converter to HDMI to HDMI cable to HDMI in port in on the S2340L?
Hi, the port is for adaptors, I have one for VGA and one for HDMI, which then connects to the cable and then the monitor. It worked fine since 2016 and then late last year when I made contact, the HDMI connection was lost out of the blue.
