Directive with password

I had created the directive to use password, so

pw1: *.*
password "P$mm1234567"

but it had error in below:

-2:save: ignored bad ASM argument 'P$mm1234567' in file D:\Program Files\Legato\nsr\tmp\sd000001
4483:save: `password' directive takes exactly one argument, ignored

Please advise me for this problem.

You may want to check the Administrator's Guide for more details, here is the text about password directives:

Password ASMs are available for Microsoft Windows and NetWare clients only.
Password ASMs are used to password-protect (pw1) or password-protect and
encrypt (pw2) data. Directives that use these ASMs require a local file named
networkr.cfg, which is created when a password is specified in the NetWorker User
program. For more information about entering a password in the NetWorker User
program, see ¿Password-protection for Microsoft Windows or NetWare backup
    data¿ on page 63.
If you create a global directive file or a local directive file that uses pw1 or pw2,
include the encrypted password by copying it from the networkr.cfg file. The format
of pw1 and pw2 requires that the encrypted form of the password be included on the line directly below the ASM specification.

network.cfg file can be found in the nw folder, at the client side in this case, but I'm not sure because I really never used it.

Is "P$mm1234567" your actual password or the encrypted version of it (taken from the network.cfg file)?

    Found this on Admin Guide:

Depending on user privileges and OS version, the NetWorker User program
creates networkr.cfg in one of these locations:
¿ If you are logged on with local Windows Administrator or Backup Operator
privileges, networkr.cfg is created in the root of the system volume (usually
    C:\).
¿ If you are not logged on with local Windows Administrator or Backup
Operator privileges, NETWORKR.CFG is created in
    %SystemDrive%\Documents and Settings\ \Application
    Data\Legato

    Hope this helps.

I had used pw2 in directive and follow password from example in Windows Admin Guide ("-o{koo[o").

After that, I start recovery in Networker user it will ask me to password.
So that, it can work with password from example.

Then I had to change password to another and start backup it will appear error so,

-2:save: ignored bad ASM argument 'QWwCKzgp' in file D:\Program Files\Legato\nsr\tmp\sd000002
4483:save: `password' directive takes exactly one argument, ignored

    Why I can't changed password?.
