Need some assitance if possible. Since our Dell rep gave us 2 days notice letting us know that the D600 is going to be discontinued we had to rush in here a D610. Problem we are having is with the Broadcom Netextreme 57xx Gigabyte Controller. The RIS process will not even start as when it comes time to do so we get this message

 

" The operating system image you selected does not contain the necessary drivers for your network adapter. Try selecting a different operating system image. If the problem persists, contact your administrator. Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit. "

 

We are using a Windows 2000 SP4 image, I have downloaded the only available drivers for this card and updated our Drivers\NIC folder. I used these files

 

B57W2K.cat

B57W2K.inf

B57W2K.sys

 

i  have tried using the old .cat and .sys files as well as the new ones but still receive the error.

I have modified the B57w2k.inf and changed the %BCRM%= [Broadcom.NTx86.5.1] to just [Broadcom] and I completely removed  [Broadcom.NTx86.5.1]  from the B57w2k.inf about half way down. I removed all the .pnf files from the I386 folder and stopped/started the BINLSVC service

 

All this still did not work, and soon we will be in a bind if we cannot resolve this issue. Any thoughts? suggestions??? Thanks!!!
