Installing Intel PRO Wireless 2100 in C600

Hello. I'm trying to install an Intel PRO Wireless 2100 mini-PCI card in my C600. There is no free antenna lead, either on the card or in the computer; however, there is a connector marked "COM" on the little circuit board located at the front of the card slot, and the card has two connectors marked "MAIN" and "AUX". Given this information, can anyone tell me how to make the antenna connection?
Thanks.

Try the link above and go to the section titled "MINI-PCI Card Assembly" to have an idea on how to plug in your wireless mini-pci card.

    Hi.
There's no problem plugging the card in. What's hung me up is how to make the antenna connection!
    thanks

I would not advise you to attempt to unsolder any wires at all. "COM" would means a modem connection. You are absolutely sure there are no "snap buttons" at all?

    Hi.
I did find these wires labelled "Main" and "Aux". The problem is that they're soldered directly onto the board. As you suspected, I didn't want to do anything that would harm the card. I suppose I could unsolder them and connect them to the card. But what about the connector labelled "COM" on the board?
Has anyone out there had direct experience with this configuration?
    Thanks.

    I see,

If you have managed to plug in the wireless card, there are two little black cables nearby with connectors at the ends that look like snap buttons. These are the ones that fit into the "Main" and "Aux"of your wireless card. On newer laptop series, the cables would have been white for "Main" and black for "Aux". With the "C" series you would have to decide for yourself. Rest assure you will not short circuit the card.

Yes, I'm sure. I just opened it up again to be certain. The connections marked "Main" and "Aux' are soldered onto the board. Perhaps this is an earlier model...

If what you have described to me is anything like the picture in the link i've sent to you eariler, the wires that were soldered are actually leading back to the main antenna somewhere in the casing of the laptop. Which means there is actually a connector, labled "COM"(and only one, for a different mini-pci wireless card) somewhere in between the two soldered wires but your Intel 2100 Wireless Card is not suitable for the C600 laptop. I am sorry, i had misread the part that you mentioned about "COM", it is not for a modem at all, my mistake.

If you need a mini-pci wireless card for C600, looks like you only got one choice :

OK, you live and learn. What card is compatible with the C600?
