Long Delay Before Wireless Connects

Hello,

I have a wireless network in my house. Out of the 4 laptops used, mine is the only one that throws up a problem. When I turn it on, the laptop says that the network either is unavailable or has limited connectivity. After waiting 20minutes it will connect without fail however. No matter what I do during the 20 minutes, nothing seems to work short of plugging it in directly to the router.

I have no idea whats causing it, it only started in the last couple of months, and worked fine before. Although its not a huge problem, its very frustrating if you need to quickly jump onto the net.

Any ideas to fix it would be greatly appriaciated.

Thanks for your time.

I have the same problem as well...but mine is a little bit better in the sense that my laptop take about 2-3 minutes before it connects to the internet...no matter what i do it won't connect in that time period...i have called the dell support as well but still no help....it used to be connected to the internet right away as soon as i would turn it on but now for some unknown reasons this has happened to me as well...infact i can't even see the available networks during this time...it simply won't open it...

any help for me as well.

    thanks.

    just_legendary,

Are you using these Recommended Wireless Router Settings in your wireless router?

Are you using any type of peer to peer programs, like limewire, Bearshare, etc...?

Have you scanned for malware. Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, update it and do a quick scan. If it finds anything, then go to DELL Malware Removal Forum, read the top post by bugbatter and follow the instructions.
