Hi,

I'm having trouble getting Wake-on-LAN working with ANY of our PCs.

 

We have a range of optiplex PCs, GX110, 150, 240 etc. They are all on the same subnet. They all have a "remote wakeup" option in the bios, which is enabled. All the ones I am testing on have the latest BIOS available.

 

I have a number of programs for sending/testing magic packets. I send a magicpacket while the remote PC is turned ON, to check it is able to recieve the magicpacket (using a magicpacket monitoring program) and it IS recieving the broadcast message.

 

I then shutdown the remote PC, and send the magicpacket, but nothing happens. I have also tried putting the remote PC in standby mode, but the magicpacket also does nothing.

 

I have tried multiple magicpacket sending programs, including "magictest" from 1a, and AMD's own magicpacket program. The packets always get detected by a monitor program, but never actually cause the machines to turn on.

 

Anyone got any idea what I need to do? It is obviously something at the remote PC end causing the problem... I couldn't find anything on the 3com site for firmware updates to the onboard 3c920 card or anything.
