CPU upgrade

Hi I was wondering if it was possible to put a I5-10600 in a OptiPlex 7020 motherboard as my friend needs a new CPU and i have a spare10600.

    There are two models of Optiplex 7020:

    old LGA1150 for Intel 4th gen cpu.  This is a legacy model.

    and new LGA1700 for Intel 14th gen cpu.  This is a recent 2023 model.

    neither model supports Intel 10th gen cpu including i5-10600.

    If your friend has a motherboard without cpu, it is probably the legacy 7020.

    @redxps630

    If you don't mind me asking, why do you call the previous 7020 a legacy model when it has UEFI BIOS?  780 and older had Legacy BIOS.

    legacy in the sense of old respectful Dell tech, not in the sense of bios legacy mode.

    780 also has UEFI bios
