Optiplex 7010 MT
Hi, I currently have a Zotac 1050 mini but I was wondering if a 1660 GTX would work on my PC and if its mobo compatible and everything. I had a MSI Ventus 6gb 1660 OC installed but no video to my monitor would emerge. I did BIOS update, CMOS reset, Ram and GPU reseating, PSU upgrade beforehand, tried enabling pcie as main display (but theres no option to), disabled Intel Hd graphics, etc… In the NEWEGG description it said that if there's no monitor feedback then it means its a MOBO issue. I saw some youtube vids of people doing OptiPlex 7010 MT+ 1660 builds so I'm assuming I got (A) A defective GPU or (B) I need to buy from a different manufacturer like ASUS becuase the MSI 1660 barely got in without touching the RAM locks. I also forgot to mention that I tried installing NVIDIA control panel w/ drivers for the 1660 but apparently I have a windows 10 that isn't supported? And it couldn't find any compatible hardware as well but I'm just assuming it is because whenever I had control panel open, it was when I DIDN'T have the 1660 inside, because like I said, it didn't display anything.
In any case, I'm currently looking for a 1660 competitive COMPATIBLE gpu for around $200 if so which one? Appreciate the feedback ahead of time.

Yes and while I don't disagree that it just might be a defective card, I still don't understand why I can't download control panel without running into both compatible hardware and windows 10 version problems.

That part I don't quite know. The 7010 originally had Win7 on it. It makes me wonder if you'd have to download drivers for Win7 instead. Some systems are like that. But that's just an idea.

Windows 10 update KB4556799 is known to cause a lot of problems, including breaking drivers.

MSI is a good name brand. You may have a rare defective card.
Dimensions can be looked up on any card you're looking for.
PC Builds recommends 16GB RAM to go with your 1660. That isn't the issue at startup though; you should still get a picture.
