The Windows Insider release of Windows 11 is open to older PC's.  When the final "RTM" Windows 11 is released then the Microsoft requirements will be needed.  Its not a Dell issue with full Windows 11 compatibility, its the Microsoft requirements.  

How areyou installing on a 9020 with out the TPM 2.0 requirement? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@Kaykay2 , make an installation USB drive, swap your system with a test drive so that you can go back if you don't like the new Windows.  Go into BIOS and enable UEFI (it will require to disable legacy option rom), enable TPM Security.  Save your settings and restart with your USB drive plug in, tap F12 and selecting to boot with your USB.  You are all set for installing new Windows 11.

There are two installation paths available:

1. Upgrade by launching Setup on the media while running Windows 10. You will have the option to: 
   
   a. Perform a Full Upgrade, which keeps personal files (including drivers), apps, and Windows Settings. This is the default experience and is the one that Installation Assistant uses.
   
   b. Keep Data Only will keep personal files (including drivers) only, not apps and not Windows Settings.
    
   c. Clean Install will install Windows 11 and keep nothing from the Windows 10 installation. For more info, see Give your PC a Fresh Start.
   
   
   
   
   
   

2. Boot from media to launch Setup. This path is a clean install and will not retain previous files or settings. For more info, see Give your PC a Fresh Start.

   Important: You should verify that your device meets minimum system requirements before you choose to boot from media, because it will allow you to install Windows 11 if you have at least TPM 1.2 (instead of the minimum system requirement of TPM 2.0), and it will not verify that your processor is on the approved CPU list based on family and model of processor.

Hi petermuss, could you help me? I bought an Optiflex 7020 and DELL says NO compatible with W11. I tried to install W11 and it says NOT POSSIBLE. How could you do that?

@Kaykay2​ You need to go into BIOS and turn on the TPM. It has TPM 2.0. I had to do it also

I have 11 on my 9020 now. can't turn on bluetooth because there is no gui switch. how do i get it to work?

I've had a Dell Optiplex 9020 for a while, it works well, but was concerned about the end of life for Windows 10.  I've seen several refurbs with Windows 11 and it has TPM 1.2, so I thought I'd give it a try.  It's working after the install, but basic windows warnings were given. 

Basic steps for those with an an Optiplex 9020: NOTE: Backup your data files first.  Also, you should reboot between steps as well. 

Step 1.) go to security in your BIOS (F2 at startup), and set the options to turn your TPM 1.2 on. 

Step 2.) Check TPM, Windows Key R, type tpm.msc and you'll see if it's on

Steps 3. and 4.) Setup your registry per microsoft, modify it and Download Windows 11, and run it through the defaults to get Windows 11 Pro installed, I found a great YouTube video for these step: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asuJdK1WXAU   

All this goes rather quickly, and except waiting for Windows to install, which just takes time.  My Optiplex 9020 is now running Windows 11, hopefully it has a little more life, but if not it was worth a try, I figure there's nothing to lose since I don't want a pc running Windows 10 after support stops.
