From the BIOS / System Setup (no internet needed)

1. Power on or restart the machine.

2. As soon as you see the Dell logo, repeatedly press F2 to enter System Setup (BIOS).

   • If you miss it, reboot and try again.

3. In the BIOS menu, go to:

   • System Information (or similar; wording can vary slightly by BIOS version).

4. Look for a field called Manufacture Date (sometimes shown as “Mfg Date”).

   • You’ll also see Service Tag, BIOS version, Ownership Date, etc. here.dell+3

That date is the factory build date for that specific unit.

From Dell’s support site (using Service Tag)

1. Find the Service Tag:

   • On the case (usually a sticker on the back or side), or

   • In BIOS under System Information, or

   • In Windows:    powershell

      

     Get-WmiObject -Class Win32_BIOS | Select-Object ReleaseDate, SerialNumber

2. Go to: https://www.dell.com/support

3. Enter the Service Tag (or Express Service Code) and submit.

4. On the product support page, look for:

   • Warranty / View Warranty Details, or

   • System Information / Product Details.

5. The Ship Date / Manufacture Date is typically shown there.dell+3

This method gives you Dell’s recorded ship/manufacture date tied to that exact chassis.
