Cpu

I have switched the processor in my Dell Poweredge 2900 to Dual quad core Intel Xeon E5472. It now will turn on but nothing is displayed . So what is wrong with it?

    CjScott,

    I am not showing the 2900 as supporting that specific controller, which would explain why it isn't booting. Just to make certain though, I would verify if the servers BIOS is up to date.

    I believe the X5470 is the highest CPU that can be used in the 2900.

    You MUST have revision III WITH the latest BIOS in order to use ANY 5400 processors.
