Error Installing Windows 2000 Server

I'm trying to install windows 2000 in a new PowerEdge 1800 server but i get an error at setup startup

Lsass.exe - Aplication error
The instruccion al "0x77fc9bbb" reference memory at "0x5854484". The memory could not be read

sometimes it stops when it is installing devices, when this is done i get another error:

Setup was unable to set the account domain
LSAOpenPolicy returned status c0020017

and then it restart the computer. I try this with two different discs and is the same.

Could i avoid this by installing another windows system and how can i do it, by the way i have an 80 GB SCSI HARD DRIVE

I'll appreciate so much your response.

You did not say what service pack level you were installing but the 1800 requires Win2000 SP4 to use the dell "Installation and Server Management" disk. I think you need at least Win2000 SP3 to install right from the windows CD without the dell disk.

Use Dell PowerEdge "Installation and Server Management" bootable CD v.4.5 to install it. If you don't have Windows 2000 With SP4 you can slipstream it and create a copy with the SP4. For slipstream click here:

    Cheers

    Hi,

I am encountering the same problem on PowerEdge 850.

But by the time we baught Windows 2000 Server, there were no Service Pack 4 and my media has SP2 only.

Microsoft has SP4 for free but that does not help as I need to have the whole thing in one CD.

    please advise.

    Get Slipstream Utility from here:
    http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/slipstream.htm

This will help you merge your Windows 2000 Server and SP4 together and burn in one CD.

    Cheers.

I downloaded SP4 (both express and network version) and streamer does not detect any of them as a valid SP4 file.

Am I doing anything wrong or this ulitily is for XP only?

    Thanks

    Hi,

I just want to thank Seyed Javad.

I tried it again today and everything went through.

    - SP4 CD created using AutoStreamer 1.0
    - Windows 2KSP4 in installed using Dell installer CD
