For the sake of those who run into this issue with a 2500+ USD notebook(Precision 5560 here) open the Dell Power Manager, and set the charge mode to standard. Mine was on express, and the machine when plugged in at battery levels under 15% and used with factory charger went to hibernate after a few minutes.
