I have a Dell Deminsion 4550 and a Dell 8250. Both have Windows XP as the OS. I want to take the HDD from the 4550 and put it into the 8250. When I do this, on boot up i only get the screen that gives you different boot up modes, safe, safe with nextwork, ect. I tried booting up in safe mode, but it goes back into this same screen. No way I can get it to come up.

My quesion is, can this be done. moving the old HDD from the 4550 to the 'new' 8250. Maybe it is a jumper problem. Both desktops have two CD drives in them. I have cabled the hdd from the 4550 the same way within the 8250
