***Help on Latitude!!!

I'm not sure if this is the right board, but I'm having a problem with my Latitude.  Every time I turn the power on, all the power lights turn on but the screen remains black and the power lights just turn off again after 2-3 seconds.  I can't access anything on the computer so I'm really having trouble. Can anyone help me with this problem?

    What's the history of this problem? Also what model Latitude do you have? It is visible on the initial boot screen. Did this happen suddenly or was it twitchy for sometime? More info would be helpful.

    Its a C600/C500. I cant access the boot screen or anything at all. the power light just turn on for a few seconds and then just shut off. The screen remains black and everything.
    It was working perfectly fine and i turned it off and like 30 mins later I went to turn it on and this happened.

    Leduke sorry but im not very advanced with computer terms and how to access parts.

    Check your RAM for seating and reseat it to be sure. Try anothe rmodule if you have one available. Hook up an External monitor to the VGA plug and see if it will boot that. Try removing the battery and see if it will boot. If no joy, then remove the Keyboard and check your CPU for proper seating in the Socket. It should be level and flush with the socket all the way around it

    I don't really think I would be able to do this, does anybody know what exactly is worng with it and how much it would cost to fix?
