No hard disk detection on boot
I turned my Dell PC on 2 days ago and the following message appeared straight on the screen
“Primary drive 1 not found
Primary hard disk drive 0 failure
Press F1 to continue, F2 for system setup”
Pressing f1 would just repeat the message so I pressed F2 and proceeded to chop and change the limited options available in systems setup, including the boot device order and drive configuration. Nothing seemed to work, so went about setting everything back to original settings and reset the PC, windows kicked in this time and the computer ran fine.
Came home from work yesterday and the same message appeared
“Primary drive 1 not found
Primary hard disk drive 0 failure
Press F1 to continue, F2 for system setup”
Only this time nothing I done, bypassed this. I’ve had a look inside the PC and can’t see any loose wires or anything visibly wrong.
Where can I go from here? My main priority is not to lose the info on my hard drive.
Any feedback would be appreciated
Derek
