I have an Inspiron 1721 with the VISTA operating system (there was no choice), home premium.  I get very anoying Blue Screens when booting up.  It happens about once every 5 or 6 times I boot up.

 

I have contacted Tech Support twice.  Both times they thought they fixed it, both times they did not.

 

They have suggested re-installing the operating system, but I am in the start of a very busy tax season, so this is not a feasable option (too much time).

 

An error message blames McAfee, and recommends running the automatic update tool, but it does not resolve the problem.

 

Is anyone else have this problem, and does anyone know a possible fix?  I wish I still had XP, never had a problem with it during 4 years of use.
