just loaded Compuserve 4.0.2 onto a new Dell 2.66 with xp pro. I cannot open the CServe 4.0.2. I get an application error that says "the instructions at 0X12062683 references memory at 0X0000000c. The memory could not be read." The SYSOPS at Cserve are stumped. I have loaded from the CD as well as from the Cserve Library 16. I still get the same message. Please help
You can do it a couple of ways . . one is to download version 4.0 for Windows 2000. It worked for me on XP. The other is to use one of the script files floating around that you set your dialer to use . . I left Compuserve ( after more than 20 years) because they could not get a handle on the spam. . and deleted my script file. I bet if you googled "Compuserve script file" you would find one. . I think I got mine on one of their forums.
Thanks for the reply. My problem is not with the script, that works okay for dial up. I am using the CIS.scp script from the CServe support. The problem is that I cannot open the software for 4.0.2 or 4.0.1. I even downloaded the CS4NT4N.exe from Compuserve. That doesn't work either and I get the same "CS.exe application error" that is in my first posting. Anybody have any experience with this?
