You can remove items by editing the registry.  This is not difficult, but you do have toi be very careful as deleting the wrong thing in the registry could cause severe problems. It is good practice, before editing a key to left click on it to highlight it, then File menu, export, save the file as any name but with a .reg extension. That way if you want to restore the original entry you just double click on the file you save and its contents are merged back into the registry.

 

To remove Browse with Paint shop pro from the folder context menu:

 

Click start, run, type regedit, click OK. The registry editor opens. In the left pane is the tree of the keys (folder icons); you expand a key by clicking on the + next to it.

In this way, navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell

Back up the Shell key as explained above.

click on the + next to Shell

you should see a key called Browse with Paint shop Pro. Right click on it and click delete. Close regedit. If you open Windows Explorer and right click on  a folder, Browse with Paint shop pro should no longer be on the list.

 

That is where it is on my system, if you don't have that key there proceed with a search as detailed below.as below.

 

Note that other software may place its folder right click context menu key in a different place, e.g.

 

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers

 

Other common locations for different right click context menus (drives, files)

 

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\file\ShellEx\ContextMenuHandlers

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers

 

To search for a key in regedit left click on the top 'My computer' icon to highlight it then in Edit menu click find, type in the phrase as it appears in the folder right click menu, make sure the box keys is checked  and click find next.

 

Do not try to remove the default items such as open, , copy, delete etc.
