Hi, feel free to help or direct me to a better forum for an answer

My 9100 XP pro, 3.2 p4 is booting kinda strange lately, it boots normally until right after I click on the user, then it starts loading my preferences but almost freezes. I say almost as the CPU load jumps up to about 50 -60 % and everything slows down to a crawl. The Mcaffe firewall switches of and after about 4 minutes switches back on ? meanwhile the network card, wireless and bluetooth do not load. After the mcaffe firewall goes red again they load but still nothing, I click on IE and it does not open ( though Task manager shows it is running!!) The CPU stays at 50/60 % and the computer is unusable. A hard reboot ( shutdown via menu or task manager does not work) and it comes back to normal every once out of 2-3 boots ?

Should metion that task manager shows no application running, processes nothing registering CPU usage apart from system at about 16% ( seems normal in a boot up) and system idle at 40-50% which idicates 50-60% total CPU usage I believe which makes sense added to the other details

I have run AV, and 2 online checkers, I have run SPY S&D and nothing is being found. What next. I have seen threads to say that it might be a driver issue ? latest updates are Bluetooth manager  (but this was happening beofre that) Video driver and network card driver

Inspiron 9100, XP Pro, 3.2P4, 1Gig Ram, 7K60 HDD , UXGA, 9700 with 128MB
