Windows Re-Installation disk on a different PC?

I have a re-installation disk from a new Dell Vostro

and I have an old computer ALREADY installed with windows xp. It doesn't have the reset to factory setting installed on the hard drive, instead it asks for me to insert a CD to proceed. Can I use this different disk on the old PC?

If it asks for the Product Key, I can just use the same old one on the side of the computer right?

This is my first time Reseting Computer to Factory Settings

The Dell Windows Operating System disc supplied with a new PC is only Legally licensed for the PC it was delivered with.

    Hello,

A Dell reinstall disk can be used with another Dell system.

But, the Windows sticker on the system must be the same version of Windows as the disk you are using to install.

The process is legal since you are using a Dell disk on a Dell system with a licensed install number for the version of Windows that you are installing. :emotion-17:
