I performed an OS re-install on my Latitude D810 and all went well. My small problem is after the initial F2, F12 boot screen I get a select OS screen listing XP as the two options.
Any way of removing this or where did I go wrong on the install?
Thanks
Randy

goto Start>Run type msconfig hit enter
go to the boot.ini tab.
delete the line for the old os listing. reboot.

Hi Davet50
Tried that but no worky. Always puts the boot.ini back to the original. Can't even change the time value.
So I would assume that the boot.ini file is in the FAT partion that Dell creates, there is no boot.ini in the root C:\.

Boot.ini is a hidden file it should be in the C:\ directory. to display hidden files open window explorer. select TOOLS > Folder Options.
Select the view tab. scroll down to find the option to show hidden files
Here is some more info on how to fix your boot.ini
