The message you mention sounds like an error when a tape device is attached to a RAID controller. If your drive is attached to a RAID controller you need to remove it and attach it to a SCSI controller this will eliminate your error.
If you disable RAID you will lose
all hardware RAID functions. You will also have to reload all software on your server...including the operating system.
Is another SCSI controller purchase out of the question?
Can I disable ROMB? If so, will I still be able to use the disk mirroring feature when I configured my OS? I'm guessing that I don't necessarily need the ROMB.

Thanks for your reply. I have it connected to bus 1, target id 5.
I also noticed that the Dell Powervault CD refers to the following driver:
Drivers Microsoft® Windows® 2000 and Windows® Server™ 2003: QSDLT32.SYS
However, I'm using the default driver that was supplied when I built the system.
QntmDLT.sys version 2.5.
I suspect that my driver was obtained from microsoft. I have been unable to find the driver QSDLT32.SYS anywhere, including the dell site.
Thanks again.

I have it (tape drive) attached to the external scsi connector on back of the poweredge 1750. How could this conflict w/ a RAID controller?
Thanks
