Thanks for speedy post.  My main point is not the ability to 'link' the wire/cable.  But how will the two KVM managed in 'two banks' or something whatever it is called. 
 
Another possibility is to get a 16 ports USB version and redo all the wiring which should not be that complex.  :(
 
Thanks again.  Looking for your (and others) thought.

How about this as a simpler solution for attaching to the existing KVM:

Yes it will. They will simply show up as cascading two Outlook 2160ES switches with the 1-1,1-2,1-3...1-16 example.

Thanks very much for response.  :)   We should know this result exactly by next week.  It was delivered just last Friday but we didn't have a chance to install it over the weekend.

I need to link two KVMs together.  Is there any trick to this or do i just connect them via the serial port on the back?

The two switches cascade to each other by:

Switch #1 server port (any serverport) ---> connects to the local port (mouse, keyboard and vga port) of Switch #2. Make sure that both switches have the latest upgrade.
