Windows firewall?

Can anyone provide any info on the Windows Firewall that is installed with Vista. I am currently using the McAfee 30 day trail on a new Dell E521 and I am leaning towards the AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition by Grisoft when my trial expires.  Do I need to run this Windows Firewall along with the the AV software by Grisoft? or wil the AV software do the job?

AVG Free does not include a firewall, and you certainly need one. Windows firewall will not conflict with AVG Free.
 
You might also consider getting a router/hardware firewall to complement Windows firewall. The combination provides much better protection.
