Driver for multimedia controller in dimension 8400

I installed a new hard drive in my dimension.  I had 4 yellow exclamation marks,  2 for audio, 1 for video, 1 for ethernet.  This is 3 rd hard drive I've installed so I had 3 / 4 drivers from previous installation.  I finally found the multimedia controller by going to system/ device driver,  rt clicking on multimedia controller and clicking search windows update site.  It took several minutes but the pc found SB Live driver and after installing it my sound came on.  FYI for anyone looking for same driver.

I had sound twice and its disappeared again.  Here are the drivers I have for audio.  btw, when I installed a Western Digital HD, it had a cd with it to help install, format, and partition.  I had one chipset update which I downloaded after the video driver, but before the sound or ethernet.
Under system/sound  I have
audio codecs
legacy audio drivers
legacy video capture drivers
media control devices
sb live 24 bit
sound max integrated digital audio
unimodem half duplex audio device
video codecs

under network adapters I have
1394 net adapter
broadcom netxtreme 57xx gigabit controller

My pc is dimension 8400   pentium 4 HT  1 gig memory    western digital HD petitioned to 2 drives
winxp  radeon x300 series under display adapters         *  dialup

I also did a bios update.

Any help would be appreciated.  thx
