Need to find a wireless adapter for Inspiron 530 with Vista 64 bit

I just bought my wife a new Dell Inspiron 530 with Windows Vista SP1 Home Premium 64-Bit OS.  When I was building it I only saw choices for adding routers, none for adapter cards, so I figured I would use one I had here already.  However, whe I tried to install it I discover that it doesn't work with Vista 64.  I've been googling around and have found very few good answers to my question.  Does anyone know what wireless g adapter cards will work with my Dell?  Thanks, Dale.

When you were searching did you find this one?  D-Link WDA 2320.  It works ok on my daughter's 530s, but she is only running 32 bit Vista.  You would need to check their site to see if they have a driver for 64-bit Vista.

No.  Today I called Best Buy and talked to the Geeks and then went in and bought a Linksys RangePlus Wireless USB Adapter, Model WUSB100.  When I got home I spent about 5-10 minutes installing it and it works perfectly!!  Wow!  It costs more than a couple other options there at the store but I have liked Linksys products before and they don't disappoint now.

Great, I am planning on doing the same.  Is there a monthly service plan and do you need an ISP?  Or do you get connected to the internet for fee?

You need to have an ISP unless you are going to be at hotspots all the time. And then most are still on the G spec of 54mbps.

Thank you for this post!  It's now 2018 and I am still operating with my Inspiron 530, hate replacing non-broken things, haha.  I found the Linksys RangePlus Wireless USB Adapter, Model WUSB100, on Ebay for $33 and it works great!!  Super simple to set up and now my computer isn't married to locations where there is a cable outlet.
