dells hated forums

i just hate dells forums...and have moved over to hp forums...they are more like dells old forums...dell needs to get their head on straight, and realize that the fourms are very important to the customers...folks like me that participate at hp forums..will probably buy hp....i just don,t understand dell anymore, they are becoming very anti-customer...

here are the hp forums...see how much better they are..i am starting to give support to hp....you cannot even post a link here-

dells old-time supporters here have mostly left to other places,  the gaming forum here were mostly xps customers...dell recently flew some of the old  timers here to a place and meet and chat...but from what i have been told..the old forum is history..so you got to put up with this garbage of a forum

I think I'd had enough sleep, jervis961. But arrogance tends to turn me off, shall we say.

Really, now, you don't want to make a serious case for a PC being any more than a pre-assembled Heathkit, now do you? :emotion-43:

And, all the rack-mount servers I've seen so far, from 1U-8U form factors, haven't really been any more complicated than that.

Unless you're doing chip design or writing for the Linux kernel, do you really have anything special to brag about?

Algorithms for research (Fortran, anyone?) or NASA probes might qualify as well.

And, I'm in no way suggesting my name is on such a list. But I DO know what a datacenter is and how it's specified, procured, configured, installed and maintained.

After a year, the speed issue still has not changed. And what Fireberd tells us don't expect any improvement any time soon. This is my #1 complaint which why I don't visit here as much as I used.

And having to highlight text to be able to turn it into a link, is majorly stupid. With other message boards, you just click on the icon for inserting a link, and a pop-up appears to let you do that. Simple. Not this Dell forum. No sir, that's make it more difficult to use.

By the way, I sold my 200 shares of Dell stock recently. I am keeping my HP stock. That should tell you which direction I think this company is going.

You have a point Phubert but I was just saying that IdeaStorm isn't full of rocket scientists.  :emotion-5:  I think both areas have their bright spots and should be given credit for the time they volunteer.  I don't think it does anyone any good to bicker amongst ourselves when we have the same complaint.

I have lots of experience with Networking, Racal Datacom "CMS" systems, IBM 3725/45 Comm Processors, IBM 3270 terminal systems, IBM Mainframes (up to 3090's), CICS/VTAM, etc. I've also worked as a Telemetry Processor programmer at NASA.   As a LAN/WAN Gateway site Manager (23 years) I was deeply involved in a lot of what Phubert states.  However, that doesn't mean that I'm "lowering" myself by doing "hobby" PC support.  At age 71 (I'll be 72 in December) this really helps to keep my brain "working".

I prefer to see his Laurel and Hardy dancing avatar, but not a bad face to put forth on the forums, and yes he cracks me up too

Well it wouldn't be a fair fight anyway, I've got the age and weight advantage.  :emotion-4:

as long as our government allows for the outsourcing of jobs..this country will never be the same again..you cannot have a capitalistic society by eliminating the jobs ...i have told people this the last 5 yrs..that this was coming...got to get rid of the scum bag elected officals., and get ones in office that will stop this insane practice of outsourcing, and stop the illegal criminals that invade our country too. you never hear the politicians talk about this..i wonder why
