SBS Std 2003 R2 on Dell PE 840
I recently purchased a complete 840 server setup from a liquidating business. The COA tag on the box (and the build list from Dell) indicate that it is was shipped and licensed with Small Business Server 2003 R2. However, first appearances indicate that it has just standard server 2003 x64 installed (no evidence of Exchange Server or Sharepoint in the programs or tools lists). When I purchased the box, I received all the discs of the original media, including the Dell Installation disks, Server 2003 standard R2, Server 2003 x64 R2, and MS Office 2007.
In order to take advantage of the SBS features, is it likely that I just need to have someone re-install the OS and include the "extras" of SBS? The COA says Windows SBS std 2003 R2 1-2 CPU 5cals. I assume that I will be able to re-register the machine as a SBS server if I have the correct media to re-install? I plan on having a local network guru stage the machine for me, but I wanted to confirm whether we'd be able to use the SBS features.

As long as you have the SBS media, installing using the COA on the box shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks for the reply, Dennis. The thing that strikes me as "strange", is that of all the discs (media) I have, none actually say Small Business Server or SBS. Here's what I have:
1) Microsoft Window Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition (Windows Rights Management Services 1.0 with Service Pack 1)
2) Microsoft Window Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition Disc 1
3) Microsoft Window Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition Disc 2
4) Microsoft Window Server 2003 R2 Standard x64 Edition Disc 1
5) Microsoft Window Server 2003 R2 Standard x64 Edition Disc 2
6) Microsoft Office Standard 2007 (Volume Licensing Key Required)
7) Dell Power Edge Installation and Server Management Version 5.2
8) Dell PowerEdge Service and Diagnostic Utilities Version 5.2
9) Dell PowerEdge Documentation Version 5.2
10) Dell Systems Management Consoles Version 5.2
I'm curious if SBS uses different media, or whether the discs are all encompassing and install the "extras" for SBS based on options selected during a fresh install?
If I do need different media for SBS, how can I obtain it?

FYI for anyone else that this might help. After I re-registered the server for our company, I got on-line to chat with tech support. It was no problem getting a new copy of the SBS DVD (at no charge) and it is supposed to be on the way. I assume that since the machine was shipped with this software, the machine is still under warranty/service contract, and I had the COA and was the registered owner of the machine, it made it a slam dunk.
