V715W ALL IN ONE PRINTER

I have a Dell Insprion Desktop and a Dell Inspiron laptop.  I had a Linsys router.  My desktop was connected via usb and the laptop from the shared network.  I installed a new Linsys E3000 wireless router.

I have some problems now.  My desktop prints fine but I cannot connect the laptop to the printer either wirelessly or via the shared network.  Additionally, I have now discovered I cannot launch my Dell Printer Home from either the shortcut or directly from the program.  I click on it and it is just blank.  I also cannot scan directly from the printer.

In my printer folder, it shows 3 printers for the V715...one says Dell v715 w copy 2, one says Dell v715w network, and one has a number et002000079db0e.

I really hate do anything else to try to fix the problems without some direction.

Can someone point me in the right direction?  Thanks.

 Pattyfive,

Your setup should look like

wall > ISP modem/router > Linksys wireless router > wired/wireless

The Dell V715w Wireless printer, you have it connected to your network, correct?

Can you please tell me the Type of security, if it's mixed mode and the channel you're using in the Linksys before proceeding?

I'm looking at the network Map.  It is not showing me the wired network (I have another laptop and my pc wired to the router).  It shows the wireless and it shows my router name with an icon that looks like my older router the one that says switch, one that says the router name with an icon that looks like my new router than internet.    it the has a note sayting the printer with the ET000...name cannot be placed in the map.  I don't see my son's laptop or my work laptop (wired into router).  I have a a comcast internet/phone modem.

The security type states WPA2 or WPA.  The printer is connected, the wireless light is active and I can print documents from my desktop pc.  On my son's laptop is shows connected by when I try to print it shows the document sitting in the queue and not going to the printer.

How do I identify if it is in mixed mode or the channel?

My preference is to have one laptop and my desktop hardwired to the router as well as have the desktop connected via usb to the printer.  That is how I had my old router configured.  The only difference would be having my son's laptop connect wirelessly to the printer.

I appreciate your help.

Pat

Pat,

First try running Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print jobs from the queue. The first time you print from Word, Adobe, Excel, tec..., click file print, then make sure the proper printer is selected.

If your Linksys is similar to mine, then you should see under wireless, basic wireless settings.

I use WPA-PSK(TKIP) Security (Persoanl) and I use channel 11. Have no issues with my Dell V715w Wireless Printer connecting. (Settings should match mine)
