Is a WD5000BPKT compatible with a Dell Studio XPS 16?

Hello Everyone

My HDD in my Dell Studo XPS 16 (1640 Model) is broken :-(

I have been looking at replacement HDDs and I really like this one:

WD 500GB 2.5" SATA-II Scorpio Black Hard Drive - 7200RPM 16MB Cache

Before you mention it, I value speed (7200 rpm compared to 5400 rpm) over capacity (500GB compared to 750GB) as I have an external HDD as well

I have asked various retailers, e.g eBay Sellers and the website eBuyer, if this HDD is compatible with my laptop and they said ask Western Digital !

I then asked Western Digital if this HDD was compatible with my laptop and they said ask Dell !!

which leads me here, so my question is:

Is the WD 500GB 2.5" SATA-II Scorpio Black Hard Drive - 7200RPM 16MB Cache compatible with a Dell Studo XPS 16 (1640 Model)???
