I got some more information from the marketing manager. There are two power supply configuration options available with the 1950 III and 2950 III when you order it. In the US it defaults to "Energy Smart" power supplies, which can be monitored, but if you change the configuration to "Redundant Power Supply", that includes a different power supply which can not be monitored for power and is a less efficient.
I update the page to show this at the bottom.
I am anticipating your next question, but go ahead and ask it. :-)

Okay, I'm still not buying the story ;-) If you compare tag 9HNXM3J (1950 III) and 24SXM3J (2950 III) they have the same kind of power supplies according to the online original system configuration. PSU is "PE2950 III REDUNDANT POWER SUPPLY NO POW" or "PE1950 III REDUNDANT POWER SUPPLY NO POW". Neither has been purchased as "ES"
On the 1950 it does state that the PSUs are not power monitoring capable:
% omreport chassis pwrsupplies
...
Individual Power Supply Elements
Index : 0
Status : Ok
Location : PS 1 Status
Type : AC
Maximum Output Wattage : 670 W
Online Status : Presence Detected
Power Monitoring Capable : No
Index : 1
Status : Ok
Location : PS 2 Status
Type : AC
Maximum Output Wattage : 670 W
Online Status : Presence Detected
Power Monitoring Capable : No
While on the 2950 III they are:
% omreport chassis pwrsupplies
...
Individual Power Supply Elements
Index : 0
Status : Ok
Location : PS 1 Status
Type : AC
Maximum Output Wattage : 750 W
Online Status : Presence Detected

Haven't forgotten about you, lots of internal communication happening. Someone is looking at your specific config right now, but best guess is that your orders were part of a "deviation" on the manufacturing line. We have multiple suppliers for parts and instead of not shipping the systems, some were built with the HE supplies even though the customers did not order them or specify them in the build.
The "REDUNDANT POWER SUPPLY NO POW" is supposed to be the regular redundant supply WITHOUT power monitoring capability.
I'll let you know more as I get it, or they might chime in directly on this thread.
