'The default gateway is not available' Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 1030 problem
Hello,
I own an Inspiron n5110 laptop(Dell) with an Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 1030 wireless card. I use Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I constantly drop internet connection, mainly when downloading and playing games. In the right bottom corner, where my wireless connection signal strenght is showed, I get an yellow triangle with '!' mark in it saying 'Limited access'. When troubleshooting, the only way to get an internet connection again, I get an message 'The default gateway is not available' and it says that it's fixed. after awhile I lose internet connection again and everything repeats. I figured out that it's not from my router or Internet Service Provider. In my previous thread PudgyOne helped me but unfortunately in wrong direction. Now when I sorted the offender I hope that everyone will give me more accurate suggestions. I saw in the forums the option to exchange this card for the 6230 upgraded version but that is not a variant for me because in my country the technicians can at very damage the laptop. So, any help is appreciated.

Could you please let us know what all have you tried so far ? Also PudgyOne's suggestion that worked...
Dont understand what you mean by this -> Now when I sorted the offender I hope that everyone will give me more accurate suggestions.

Alex,
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\Create a Power Plan
Select High performance.
Start, control panel, device manager. Click on Network and then right click on your wireless adapter, left click properties, power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.
Have also heard that disabling the Bluetooth in the adapter helps with the connection and speeds.

By offender I mean the wireless card, I tried everythng and here is all the information which PudgyOne gave me with all the suggestions en.community.dell.com/.../19434917.aspx . These days I am going to the store where I bought the laptop and will eventually change the wireless card with the new Advanced 6230 model. In every thread with the same problem(ususally with the same card - my current one) people have fixed the problem with that exchange. So I make everything possible to keep my current card because I don't find it normal to give additional money for a problem which mustn't persist in a brand new laptop with a brand new Wi-fi card. And now, if I fix the problem with the card exchange I will be in ecstasy for something that must be normal from the very beginning. I will be happy like if I have upgraded my laptop with some expensive stuff but indeed I will have got my Wi-fi to work.

My options already look like that, I have touched ll these power options and it still appears. Befoure a few days I disbaled the Bluetooth dapter but the same evening I got disconnected again.

Alex,
Not sure if I asked, are there any 2.4GHz cordless phones in your home? Maybe the neighbors? The cordless phones when used, even when ringing, can disconnect you from the wireless network.

Yes, you already asked and that was one of the suggestion which I thought had fixed my problem but after a week disconnected from the phone base and no problems it happened again.

Hello,
After my visit in the the store from which I bought my laptop and a call to Dell in my country it was clear that such a wireless card in my country is not available. And the Intel Centrino Advanced 6230 (around 24$) will cost me if I buy it from that store around 80$ which is enormous for such a cheap card to be so expensive in my so poor country. And I figured out that I have two variants:
1. Degrade from Windows 7 to Vista or XP.
2. Change my current card for the 6230 version which works perfectly with Windows 7.
BUT, I don't want to degrade or to give so much money for something that must be working from the very begining.
So, my last variant is to make the card and the OS to work together. This is my last desperate try to make the things without paying. So, please, If there is something that might be helpful for this cooperation between my card and OS, post it.

Hello,
I think that I solved it because nearly month and a half has passed and there is no disconnect in that period. The real solution is to turn off the wireless N mode of the card and from 64 or 65 (I don't remember) Mbps it goes to 54 Mpps, it's a little bit slower than before but there are no problems since then.

I'm now getting the same issue like this, with the same error message: 'The default gateway is not available'.
What should I do now?
