XPS 15 L502X CPU UPGRADE QUESTION

With the XPX 15 I got an I7-2670QM, I have had some problem with some statistics processsing going a bit slow and I have found an I7-3920XM at a good price.

I am planning to swap out the processor, the socket and the general comparision at the Intel site looks very close. Has anyone tried this? See any reason not to?

Thanks

You cannot replace a Sandy Bridge CPU  with an Ivy Bridge.  The new generation of CPUs requires a different chipset and therefore a different system entirely.

If you want an Ivy Bridge CPU you need to sell the existing system and buy a new one.
