Hi,

Thanks for your post.

Inventory is a read only operation and shouldn't result in killing the WS-MAN process on ESXi server. It would be better to open a support ticket so that they can investigate if there is a specific issue with the ESXi version and the OMSA VIB. Here is the number 800-945-3355

Regards

Another thing to check would be the ESXi image. Dell supported images are available from support.dell.com which contain specific ESXi versions which are qualified and supported by Dell.

I too am having this exact same issue.  Did you ever get it resolved?

Thanks Rob.  We are running 5.0 and looking to upgrade.  Maybe I'll wait to see if that helps.  If not, I'll most certainly open a ticket.

I've heard anecdotal evidence  that 5.0 folks will see this problem, but when they move to 5.1 it goes away.  You may consider opening a ticket at 800-945-3355 and see if they've heard anything more on this.

Regards,

Rob

Just wanted to update that after upgrading my ESX hosts from 5.0 to 5.1, and installing OM Offline Bundle 7.2, I have not had any problems with the ESXi servers falling out of management.  It's only been running like this for a week, but so far so good.  if anything goes wrong, I'll be sure to udpate.

Thanks for sharing the info.

How frequently is discovery and inventory scheduled to run on these ESX hosts ?

Which version of OME is being used to manage these ESX hosts ?
