Ignacyuz,

There is not a migration path to go from a 2 drive raid 1 to a 6 drive raid 1+0. You would need to back up and recreate the array as a 1+0 and then restore afterwards. With going from a basic to a nested raid I would recommend this anyway, as it is more stable and protects the data.

Specifically, "nested" RAID levels (10, 50, 60) cannot be the starting OR ending RAID levels ... OCE/RLM applies only to non-nested RAID levels (0,1,5,6).

No, it doesn't say you need a different BIOS version ... it says you need a different BIOS OPTION.  All BIOS versions are available from Dell's Support Site.  The BIOS option it is talking about is UEFI mode ... an alternate to BIOS mode, allowing for more advanced system configurations.  When configuring a single 6x1TB RAID 10 (3TB), Windows must be installed on the 3TB disk (as a GPT disk) in UEFI mode.  GPT is the only way Windows can see a disk larger than 2TB, and UEFI is the only way Windows can boot to GPT.  3.6TB is an artificial limitation (probably a limitation with the website configurator) ... you can configure the larger RAID 10 yourself (you DO already have this server, correct?).

OK Thanks, I got it.

About the server yes I have it but I still do not have the extra Disk Drives.

Thanks a lot.
