Seems microsoft has a new update

Just got a update but did not get what it was. I beleave its for IE explorer as had been posted. On xp sp3 machine.

That would be:

Microsoft Security Advisory (2798897). Fraudulent Digital Certificates allow spoofing:

I believe it is for all Windows and not only for XP and IE

For Windows 8, Windows RT, Windows Server 2012, and devices running Windows Phone 8, no action is needed as these systems will be automatically protected.

For Windows 7 and Windows Vista, if you have already applied the automatic updater of revoked certificates (see Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 2677070 for details), you are also protected.

For Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 customers [ --- as well as for 7/Vista users who did not to install the automatic updater of revoked certificates cited above --- ] Microsoft recommends that the 2798897 update be applied immediately
