That was it...just needed the domain admin account...I see in it vSphere now.  Don't be surprised to see me with more simple newbie questions.  I am glad I found this forum though to at least bounce questions around.  I try to only ask questions after I think I have exhausted my documentation and/or knowledge.

Thank you very much for the reply.  It helped, but there is still something we are missing

I did put the ip address in already...noted that in the documentation.

It was helpful to go to the IP address...didn't think of that.  And, it does present options including going into the share.  But, it doesn't seem to get us anywhere.  I think we are logging in OK.  But, it is just blank.  Could it be a login in issue?

The other question (as we continue to doubt ourselves) is:  do I really need to even do this step anyway?  A lot of info flies by upon the initial install...it even looks like it talks about being registered to the server.  Is there something else that needs to be done to get to show up as a plug-in within vSphere?

It seems relatively straight forward, but being new at this stuff I am assuming that I am missing something simple.

Sorry to be asking very beginner type questions.  But, I am diving into this and learning as much as I can now.

I watched it more closely now...I was wrong it does flash by saying it can't login to vCenter.  My company that helped with the install says it should be my domain account.  I am going to give that a shot now.  The documentation doesn't really get specific as to whether this is an existing account or something being setup.  I had just been putting in our normal Administrator account, but not specifically our domain account and password...slight difference..at least I hope that is all that it was.

The first time I used the HIT/VE (predecessor to the VSM), I had the same problem; you see the Dell logo that you also see when the group manager loads, and then you get a pop-up that looks similar to the group manager login window, so I didn't read what the window said and just tried to log in with the group manager credentials. After a few times of trying (thinking I typod the password or so) I finally bothered to read the window and saw that it was asking for the Virtual Center credentials. After putting in the correct credentials it worked fine.
