Hi - thanks for the offer of help. I have spoken to a number of these representatives - and the latest has now told me that they are short of processors so cannot make the intended 23rd October delivery date!! It just gets worse.

They prob. arent being shipped, here in the US our orders are being delayed day after day. Dell has some serious issue's going on.

I ordered my new pc on the 13th and recieved an email everyday saying it has been delayed, and i went to these forums and im not the only person recieving these. I ask customer service and they say there are inventory shortages!

Maybe there is an issue with Foxconn??

Can't believe that this thread on poor tracking info has been going for such a long time - it's the second hit on Google if you search for Walsh Western Tracking.

Have to say that the Walsh Western so-called tracking system really is absolute rubbish.  It doesn't seem to have changed for years.  The contrast between the tracking info on the Walsh Western site and, e.g. DHL tracking is like chalk and cheese.  (I am not affiliated to DHL -I have used them a few times to send/receive letters/packages and have been pleased with the service - e.g. collected in Estonia around 16:00 local and delivered to me in SE England before 12:00 next day).  Walsh Western really need to update themselves for the modern era.  Even Royal Mail's tracking for special delivery items is much better than WW.

The Dell website has the 'track here' link and when I click it, I get a new tab open at Walsh Western but it only has a more or less blank screen - just the WW logo and the words track and trace, B2C Version 2.01 and the current date/time.

I tried the Syncreon website (parent of Walsh Western) and I tried to enter the order reference details from the confirmation that Dell sent me but they don't seem to get accepted - I think that I don't understand what needs to go in what box (and what's this about changing 'GB' to '02'? and what's a 'Web Order Number', I've already entered the order number in the first box?).

Dell - you really need to get a grip of Walsh Western.  The last phase of the order - getting the actual product to the customer - is as important as all of the other stages.  This step is currently letting down the rest of the service.  There's no point in saying that there's tracking info available if you can't actually get to it.  It creates a very bad impression.  Also, if you need to enter the customer/order number differently to that shown on the Dell Order Confirmation, then _please_ print that on the order confo - it would make it much easier!

Finally, suggest that someone in Dell has a look at, for example DHL, to see what good quality tracking info should be like.

Brian

Wow!  This morning, the tracking information link has changed to UPS.  And there is detailed tracking information!

I'm getting a bit excited about my new system turning up soon.  (fingers crossed)

Having exactly the same issue here. If you have a 'Track Here' link, the least it could do is actually track the thing you've ordered. I tried the manually inputting details on the walshwestern page, but with no luck. I've got to take time off work to be in to collect my new laptop, but without knowing when that's likely to be, it's gonna be tough.

Is there any way to get any more useful information, or is it just a case of patience until they update their stuff?

I work in a University in the UK and am awaiting £24,000 of servers.  This was split into two deliveries.

They failed to deliver the first half one day as the driver 'ran out of time' at 4:36PM

It was all due to be delivered the next day but they failed this time as 'Not at home - left card'.  NOT AT HOME. We are a University and the goods in is open until 4PM and myself and a colleague sat there until 5.30PM waiting.

The truth is the driver didn't go to the correct delivery place, they couldn't find it or couldn't be bothered.

Walsh Western or whomever they use are lazy and incompetent.

Just to say that Dell has also provided me with a blank Walsh Western branded link. Clearly no desire by Dell to address these problems which have been clearly signalled to them well over a year ago in this thread alone. I'd recommend other frustrated customers post on this thread and hopefully potential new customers will be warned to buy their computers ELSEWHERE from a company that cares about customer service. Seriously, go elsewhere if you want a smooth, worry-free delivery process.

Exactly the same issue for me too. Very concerned no one has any idea where my pc is and how to find out when it will be delivered!

Would anyone like to suggest a reason why Dell have apparently had problems with the Walsh Western tracking link for UK customers since 2009 at the earliest, and they still haven't bothered to fix it. In what kind of contempt must Dell hold its customers in ignoring this issue over the course not of weeks or months, but YEARS! How I wish now I'd just bought an Asus laptop from Amazon. What happens when it goes wrong and I have to go through all this again! Urgh.

I ordered my laptop on 28/12/12 and today it says it has shipped.

When I click on the tracking link however, nothing appears but a blank table with a logo that links back to the Walsh Western International front page.

How can I get my tracking information?

I need to know so someone can be in the house for the delivery.

Many thanks,

Vicky

EDIT: I live in the UK

The same problem here. I ordered my Inspiron laptop on 2012-12-27. On 2012-12-31 status changed to Shipped and I got link to WWI so called "tracking". Till now every time I enter it I get only blank page with WWI logo and I don't even know if my laptop was really sent or not. I work as an forwarding agent, comparing to Dell my company is much much smaller, but standards about tracing package are much much higher!

UPDATE: Yesterday (2012-01-08) early morning Walsh was changed to DPE and I got a new tracking link. But guess what - still no possibility to trace my package. All I get is website with DHL logo and no useful information. But on my order page there is new info that laptop was sent on 2012-01-08, so I hope that it is finally traveling to me.
