Entering power save mode problem...Pls Help

Hey i have dell Inspiron 560s and i am having this problem.

As soon as i start gaming my computer screen goes to black in 2-3 minutes and give a message saying entering power save mode....

I have tried to solve it by :-

1. Updating Bios

2. Updating graphic card's driver

3. Cleaning my CPU(dust etc..)

4. Re-plugging all the cords of my pc

My computer is out of warranty ..

wat should i do??

pls help!!!

well i have repaired my computer from a local mechanic and he said that my computers graphic card was having some problem and my graphic card fan was messed up too. so i have figured it out that what was the problem any ways thanks.

Hi Himanshu_India,

To prevent this from happening follow the below steps:

  1. Click Start button, click Control Panel, click System and Security, and then click Power Options.
  2. On the Select a power plan page, click Change plan settings for the plan that you want to change.
  3. On the Change settings for the plan page, click Change advanced power settings.
  4. On the Advance settings tab, expand Sleep, expand Allow Hybrid Sleep, and choose OFF.
  5. On the Advanced settings tab, expand Sleep, expand Allow wake timers, choose Disable for both when your computer is running on battery and when it's plugged in, and then click OK.
  6. On the Advanced settings tab, expand USB settings, under USB settings expand USB selective suspend settings, choose Disable.
  7. Click Apply and then OK to save the changes.

Check if the above steps work and reply.

Hi Himanshu_India,

Monitor may enter in power saving mode when it does not get the enough power for its operations. If monitor is the cause, you may try to re-seat the monitor cable
and ensure the connections are secure. You may also try to swap the ends of cable and check if the issue persists.

Another step you may try is to use a good known cable and see if the issue persists. If it does, as a last resort you may try to reset monitor to factory defaults using
the onscreen display menu of the monitor.

Kindly post the results.

I can see how this might PREVENT this from happening, but I obviously can't follow the instructions above until I've regained use of my screen, which is stuck in sleep mode.  How do I do that?
