Inspiron 2330 not working

Hi all, This is my first post. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this issue but I wanted to try. I just opened my new Inspiron 2330 and went to set it up. I plugged it in to a standard wall outlet. When I hit the power button, there was a short flash on the screen, but no sound. Now, I cannot get it to turn on at all. I have tried multiple outlets and nothing works. There is a small light on the back of the system that lights up green- it doesn't stay on, it clicks on and off- but there is nothing on the screen and no sound. The power button on the side of the monitor doesn't light up at all. I did call Dell directly and an agent told me (after some research) that it could be a faulty motherboard and that he was going to have a technician come to my home with one in 2-3 business days. I appreciate the support from dell but I am very frustrated. I was wondering if maybe anyone here knew of anything. I used a regular wall outlet so I couldn't have fried anything. Thanks in advance for any help or support. Jason

Hi jasonsk287,

I would suggest you to drain the residual power from the computer:

o Disconnect any external peripherals (flash drives, printers, external hard drives) from the computer

o Then remove power cable

o Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds

o Reconnect the power cable and run your computer

Awaiting your response
