How to load O/S on new installed HDD'S in Inspiron 1721
Hi
Hope someone can help...
I've replaced the original HDDs with new HDDs. On starting up the laptop, I've changed the boot up sequence to load from CD, but the message I get is "No boot sector on internal Hard Drive", "No boot sector on second internal drive", No bootable devices. Sorted this out by using a "Bootable DVD...D'oh!!!
On previous HDD I did partition the HDD and install Windows 7 x64, so I have the ACHI sata drivers...
The system is RAID 2+0.
Any advice on how to proceed or links showing how to sort this out would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance

Hi Amit,
I have a link below to a Windows reinstallation guide. I'm not quite sure what you need help with.

Thanks for the reply & sorry for the original confused post.
So, I replaced both original Hdd's in my Inspiron 1721 with new 500Gb drives x2. As the system came with RAID. Initially the discs this I was using were not "Bootable" Windows 7 disc.
So I've managed to load Win7 onto the drives. But when it came to loading the O/S it gave me the option to load onto Disc 1 or Disc 2. I loaded onto disc 1, but now instead of having 1 "C" drive in "Computer" of ~ 465Gb, I have 3 drives "C" ~ 440Gb (with all updates & office), "D" ~99Mb & "E" ~465 (I think that windows it loaded onto here to as at start up it gives me 2 versions of Win 7 to choose from).
Its not causing any problems having them separate, but if anyone knows how get it to one drive with raid working correctly that would be great. Especially if it doesn't involve doing a fresh install!!!
Anyway thanks for the info...

Before you install the OS, you have to set up the RAID in the CTRL-i menu. After you do that, the installer will only see a single drive.
