System boot gets past ID'ing all the cards (network, SAS, PERC,etc.) with the various "CTRL-xx" options for configuration.
ALWAYS hangs at firmware initialization. I've let it go for 3 hours at one point and it's still in the same spot.
If I remove the SAS cables - without powering anything off - it will happily complete it's initialization 20 seconds later, and move on to the OS boot.
I disabled "Collect System Inventory On Restart (CSIOR)" and can now make it past the Initializing Firmware screen, even with the SAS cables connected. It will boot into the OS (Win2008R2). I don't see the tape library in my device list however, even with dell tape drivers installed.

Hello mr_mike_m,
Are there any error codes on the TL2000 when the server hangs? Also when the server hangs is it hanging on an expansion card like the SAS card or a PERC card? You state that if you remove the SAS cables so it appears to be hanging on the SAS card but not sure. Also have you installed the drivers for the TL2000 without it connected? If not then here is the drivers so you can try that. http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails/Product/powervault-tl2000?driverId=7NH5M&osCode=WLHS1&fileId=3126064765&languageCode=EN&categoryId=TA
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
