Dell XPS 15 inch: curious configuration

My new Dell XPS 15 came with 2 hard drives: 1 TB 5400 rpm Hard Drive + 128GB Solid-State Drive. What is the function of each? Why that configuration?

Hi Lorenzo Maceiras,

Normal hard drives are used for data storage. However, solid state drives are used to improve performance, quick access of data, small in size, etc. You may refer the below link for more information about the same:

SSDs are quite expensive when compared to normal hard drives. It can be used to store your regular data that gets used very often (For ex: Documents and Music).

If you have any other questions do reply to the same thread.
