Dell Inspiron 620

I have a Dell Inspiron 620 with I3-2100.  I am trying to upgrade my processor to and i5 or i7 but I worry that my motherboard can't support the 4th generation i5/i7.  Can you tell me how I figure out what type of processors my motherboard supports?

Thanks.

You are right, the Inspiron 620 cannot support any 4th generation processors.

Inspiron 620 systems are designed to support 2nd generation ‘I’ series processor.  Currently there is no BIOS available for the third/forth generation ‘I’ series Processors.
The Inspiron 620 is not validated for any i7 CPUs, only i3 and i5 processors.

Compatible upgrades:
Intel Core i5-2320 processor (3.0GHz with 6MB Cache)

Intel Pentium processor G630 (2.70GHz with 3MB Cache)

Check that you have BIOS version A02, or higher installed, when updated CPU microcode was added.
