You should have removed them during your Windows 8 installation. They don't do you any good any more, so go ahead and delete them. You may need to run a "startup repair" of Windows before it will boot again though.
I actually have done a complete OS reinstallation, from Win 7 to Win 8.1. Installed Windows on (C:) when other partitions were used by some mysterious files, which their size was about 150 MB.

I've seen a few different partition setups with Windows 8, most of them more complicated than what you have. I know the OS has its own recovery partition. To be honest, I wouldn't change anything unless you are planning a full reinstallation of the OS.
